The Tampa Bay Veterinary Emergency Service provides emergency & critical care to all pets, including dogs, cats, birds & exotics. There is always a veterinarian on the
premises for medical & surgical treatment. The Emergency Service also admits & stabilizes patients referred to the Tampa Bay Veterinary Specialists with whom we share the building. This specialty group offers internal medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, dentistry, neurology and dermatology services.
Our facility has a fully equipped in-house laboratory as well as access to nationwide Antech Veterinary Laboratories for additional tests as needed. We offer routine diagnostics including radiology, cardiac EKG, blood pressure monitoring and glaucoma detection. We have an oxygen chamber and special incubators for exotic & neonatal patients. Our surgical suite is prepared for urgent and emergent procedures.
Your family veterinarian will provide all follow-up treatment. If your pet is not stable enough for transportation, the Emergency Service can arrange for continued care. Your veterinarian will receive a copy of all emergency diagnostics and treatments performed when your pet is discharged.
The Emergency Service works on a triage basis. This means the more critical patients are seen before the more stable patients. Please be patient as we strive to give each pet individual attention during their visit. You do not need an appointment but a phone call before arrival would help us to be better prepared for your pet's particular situation.
